My summer break is over and I’m back to work at the high school. We’ve just made it through registration and classes will start next week. Like every year, it seems impossible that it is time for a new school year to start and yet I’m ready for a change of pace.
This summer has swished by with our work at the cabin. I have found this before that when I have a series of calendar dates that I’m tracking and passing, time seems to go into sonic speed. If I have a period of time with nothing planned and no planning to do, time goes into slow motion. In the end time does not wait no matter it’s speed of passing. There have been so many times in the last month that I have thought I need to write on The Page Turner and yet, I haven’t. I am resolved to do better and I’m making it a goal to write every three to five days for the rest of the year.
It’s not just the blog I haven’t been writing. I haven’t been writing at all! I turned in my 10-pages and query for the conference coming up the end of September and I haven’t written a word since, which is a bad thing for a writer. It’s been hard to concentrate on starting a new writing project with Silent Thunder still in need of an agent. The thought occurred to me the other day that I should be using this time to work on another blog of mine, The Ties of Time. It’s a family ancestry with a history twist blog. I get so fascinated doing the lineage history and I delve off on researching the times and culture of the generations, that I started this blog to keep track of everything. The line I’m working on now goes back to Roman times and I’m barely into the Middle Ages, so I have a bit to go.
As I’ve sent in the first 10 pages, I will also post them on the Bookshelf. Feel free to leave comments good or bad (chocolate or raisins) on the Chocolate or Raisins page. If you are not able to access that page, please comment on the blog and let me know – Thanks!
I hope your summer has been thrilling and more adventure awaits you this fall!
